What Is The Back Porch?

Every Saturday morning from 6 to 10am, 101.7 KSAM steps back in time with a show that feels less like a radio program and more like a conversation with an old friend. On The Back Porch is a four-hour journey through the golden era of country music — the kind of songs that tell real stories, the kind of voices that make you feel something deep in your chest.

We’re talking classics from the 1960s through the 1990s. Four decades of heartache, honky-tonk, front-porch philosophy, and hard-won joy. Merle Haggard singing about working men. Tammy Wynette standing by her story. George Strait making two-stepping feel like poetry. Loretta Lynn telling the truth the way only she could. Willie Nelson wandering on the road again. These songs aren’t just music — they’re memory.

Behind the mic is Bryan Reeder, a 7th generation Texan and voice that belongs on a show like this. Bryan brings the warmth and genuine love for this music that these songs deserve. He doesn’t just play the records — he honors them.
