Community Impact reports that the Willis ISD Board of Trustees okayed attendance boundaries for the new Ruth Castleschoudt Elementary School at 8150 MP Clark Road in Conroe.
The new school is set to open in August to serve Kindergarten through fifth grade. The new facility is part of the district’s $143 million 2022 bond. Coming in as the first principal of the Castleschouldt school is Chastity Simon.
At the February 11th meeting, WISD Operations Officer Bob Eaton informed the board that the rezoning effort was to not only populate the school but to “readjust transportation routes for increased efficiency and realign feeder patterns and roads.”
Eaton said, “What this is focused on and working with transportation with their buses and routes, we’re looking at breaking it up from major intersections and roads like [FM] 1097.”
According to WISD officials, families affected by the rezoning received a letter.
The school will open for the first day on August 12th.
