Community Impact reports that, according to Lone Star College System’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, the system has finished fiscal year 2024-25 with a net income of $163 million, following the subtraction of expenses from revenues.
During the March 5th meeting of the LSCS board of trustees, Chief Financial Officer Kristy Vienne passed along the college system’s financial report for 2024-25.
Actual totals for Fiscal Year 2024-25 were:
–in nonoperating revenues, which include property taxes and state funding–$604 million
–in operating expenses, which includes educational and auxiliary activities–$563.64 million
–for operating revenues, which includes tuition and grants–$122.68 million
Vienne explained in a March 6th email that figures from the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report are not directly comparable to the budget for LSCS.
Vienne said in the email that “Net Position is similar to net worth—it indicates the college’s long-term financial strength, rather than its available cash.”
LSCS Trustees passed a balanced budget of $548 million in August of 2025 for fiscal year 2025-26. Included in the Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget is $34.95 million in total new revenue, which is provided from state appropriations, property taxes and students, among other miscellaneous sources.
