The New Waverly July 4th 4-H fundraiser is ahead. On Friday, July 4th , the celebration begins at 11:00 am with a BBQ Lunch prepared and served by the 4-H Club and the New Waverly Fire Department. Each year, hundreds of residents gather at the Elementary School to catch up with their neighbors, with many staying to purchase auction items donated by the event’s sponsors and supporters.
Friday evening, residents and visitors from miles around will head to New Waverly to catch the fireworks show and sample treats from various vendors. A children’s pet and bike parade will kick off the evening at 7:30 pm and by sunset, the crowds will fill every parking lot and field around town. Families often gather each year at the same spots, setting up chairs and visiting with their friends and neighbors.
