At this week’s Huntsville City Council session, councilmembers considered entering into an Interlocal Agreement with Walker County to share in preliminary engineering costs associated with the TxDOT Transportation Alternative Grant for the proposed project on University Avenue.
Assistant City Manager Sam Maisal informed councilmembers on the matter.
Councilmembers voted in approval. Sam Maisal added that Walker County Commissioner Bill Daugette is the one that is actually putting this together and submitting it to TxDOT. Councilmember McKenzie said that, if awarded, the design money will come back to the city. Huntsville’s share of engineering costs is $11,377.50.
