On the economic front in Texas, looking back over 2024, Governor Abbott is celebrating the strength of Texas’ booming manufacturing sector and the state’s notable investments to this critical industry to further cement “Made in Texas” as a powerful global brand.
He says we owe this boom in manufacturing “to increased investments in our career and technical skills training programs.”
In March, Governor Abbott announced the inaugural members of the Texas Semiconductor Innovation Consortium Executive Committee.
The governor says, ““Texas is the birthplace of the integrated circuit, and we now lead the nation as the No. 1 state for semiconductor manufacturing.” He added, “In the last legislative session, I signed the Texas CHIPS Act into law to help further cement Texas’ position as a national leader in the semiconductor industry.
