At the last Huntsville City Council session the council considered the sale of approximately .229 acres of City-owned property at 251 Airport Drive to the Texas Department of Transportation at the TxDOT offered compensation. The sale of the city’s property is to expand Highway 75 during I-45 construction. The purchase will “restrict access along Highway 75 to Airport Road,” requiring Airport road to undergo realignment, according to the council’s agenda backup.
City Planner and Airport Manager Layne Yeager informed councilmembers about the sale and also conversed with Councilmember Bert Lyle at the session . . . .
Also, according to the Council’s agenda backup on the matter, “Based on an appraisal, TxDOT is authorized to offer $215,140.00 for the property at this stage of the acquisition process. This amount includes $12,742.00 for the portion of the acquired property and $202,398.00 as compensation for damages to [the] remaining property.”
The council approved the agenda item.
