In Huntsville Police news on Wednesday:
A known suspect was reported to have stolen mail in the 700 block of Avenue G. A vehicle burglary was investigated in the 5000 block of Sam Houston Avenue. In the 100 block of Highway 45 South, a known suspect intentionally started a fire causing property damage. In the 1400 block of 14th Street, a firearm was found and secured at HPD. In the 1400 block of 14th Street, Jamarcus Watson was arrested on an HPD warrant for abandoning a child. In the 2500 block of Sam Houston, Ramar Sanders was arrested for evading with a vehicle, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest and attempting to tamper with evidence. He was also arrested on a warrant for felony assault. Byauna Sikes was arrested for assaulting a public servant, a teacher, in the 500 block of FM 2821. Nakia Ashley was arrested in the 200 block of I-45 South for theft with two or more previous convictions. Dashawn Williams was arrested on a parole warrant.
