The Huntsville Item reports that over the weekend the Walker County Sheriff’s Office investigated a shooting at the Walker County Courthouse.
The individual, according to Sheriff Clint McRae, had been convicted on two charges of aggravated assault of a child.
Previous to being taken to the Walker County Jail for the conviction, the sheriff said the man said “he seriously needed to use the restroom” and was allowed to use a men’s restroom stall. As an officer remained close by, the sheriff said the man managed “to shoot himself in the right temple.”
The stall was breached and lifesaving procedures were administered to the man. The Sheriff also said the man was life-flighted to HCA Houston Healthcare in Conroe, and the condition of the suspect was not known at the time of the report.
