At last week’s regular Huntsville City Council session, in a public hearing, councilmembers met to hear public comment and from the developers on the adoption change of an ordinance to change the Development District Classification of approximately 86.5 acres of land adjacent to the 150 block of FM 247 from Management to Planned Development and to consider the developer’s Iconiq Homes Concept Plan.
One of the developers, Josh Rothstein, said they want the Planned Development change because they want to develop small lots. They plan to develop 480 lots of affordable homes.
He said, “The average price point of homes that we’re looking to bring Huntsville would be $175,000.”
He told councilmembers:
The Development District plan change also went through it’s First Reading. More review of the development is ahead. There was no public comment at the session.
