Every year, the Dean of Students Office at Sam Houston State University works with numerous departments and offices on campus to provide students and their families with many fun events on Bearkat Family Weekend.
Today:
The Bearkat Family Weekend Breakfast hosted by the Office of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving is from 8 to 10 AM, at the Lowman Student Center Orange Ballroom. It’s a ticketed event with a presale ticket required.
The College Fair is from 8:30 AM to 10 AM at the Lowman Student Center, Room 241.
Photos Outside of Austin Hall at Sammy’s Huge Chair are taken from 8:30 to 10 AM.
LSC Kat Klub Games and Activities are from 9 AM to 6 PM today at the Lowman Student Center Kat Club, first floor. A wristband is required.
The Escape Room in the Newton Gresham Library is from 9 to 11 AM at the library, where you hunt for a hidden treasure.
The SHSU Campus Recreation Adventure Race is from 9 to 11 AM at locations across the campus.
Classroom Dives hosted by First Generation Center—Athletic Training Lab is from 10 to 10:30 AM in the Lee Drain Building, Room 108. Families can experience a live guest lecture.
Student Organization Fest is from 10 to 11:30 AM at Frank Parker Plaza.
The Bearkat Family Weekend On-Campus Lunch is from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Old Main Market or Generals Market dining halls. It’s a ticketed event with a presale ticket required.
Bingo will be hosted by the National Honor Society for First Year Success from 12 to 2:30 PM at the Lowman Student Center Orange Ballroom with a wristband required.
Matinee Movies, presented by the Campus Activities Board, will feature “School of Rock” from 12:45 to 2:45 PM at the LSC Theatre.
Classroon Dives hosted by First Generation Center, is from 1:30 to 3 PM at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, C-070, featuring guest lectures.
Super Smash Brothers Tournament hosted by the SHSU Bookstore is from 2 to 4 PM at the LSC bookstore.
Family Feud hosted by SHSU Student Government Association is from 3 to 5 PM in at the LSC White Ballroom.
Matinee Movie, presented by the Campus Activities Board, will feature “Wrath of Man” from 3 to 5 PM at the LSC Theatre.
Bearkat Family Weekend Block Party and Car Show will be from from 5 to 8 PM at the Bowers Stadium Parking Lot P-14.
SHSU Volleyball versus Florida International University is at 6:30 PM at the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.
College of Arts and Media Department of Dance will feature “Masters of Dance” from 8 to 10 PM at the James And Nancy Gaertner Performing Arts Center Dance Theater.
Tau Kappa Epsilon presents a concert benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 9 PM at Shenanigans and Confetti’s Beach Club at 1548 11th Street in Huntsville.
