In Walker County Commissioners’ Court Monday, County EMS Director Rachel Parker asked commissioners for permission to apply for a Health Resources and Services Administration grant in regard to funding a Community Paramedic Program.
She told the court:
Commissioner Kuykendall asked Ms. Parker, “Can you explain exactly what this grant’s going to be about?”
The program would help solve EMS issues similar to those that were raised to commissioners several months ago.
Applying for the grant was approved. It was discussed that if, indeed, the County did get chosen for the grant, they would focus on reviewing the program’s implementation and its eventual continuance.
