Community Impact reports that the Lone Star College board of trustees have passed along in a July 2nd news release that they have chosen five final candidates to possibly replace current Chancellor Stephen Head who will retire August 1st.
LSC board Chair Michael Stoma said a nationwide search was implemented to find candidates.
The finalists include:
–Normandale Community College President Joyce. C. Ester
–Former Lamar Institute of Technology President and CEO Lonnie L. Howard
–Elgin Community College President and CEO David Sam
–Lone Star College-Tomball President Lee Ann Nutt
–Lone Star College Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel Mario K. Castillo
The finalists will be interviewed by the board, converse with constituent groups and engage in open forums. They will also tour the campus. The designated forums location is the LSC-System Office Community Building in the Woodlands. The forums will be available for livestreaming on Zoom.
The dates for forum candidate appearances include:
–July 10th for Joyce C Ester
–July 12th for David Sam and Lonnie L. Howard
–July 17th for Lee Ann Nutt and Mario K. Castillo
