A press release from Montgomery ISD reports that the Montgomery ISD Board of Trustees has been named the Region 6 School Board of the Year for 2022–2023. The recognition is part of the annual Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) School Board Awards Program. Montgomery ISD’s Board of Trustees was recognized for its leadership and dedication to the students, families, and staff members of the growing school district.
The Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) has sponsored the School Board of the Year recognition program since 1971. The purpose of this program is to recognize school boards whose service and dedication have made a positive impact on Texas schools. As part of the process to select the Outstanding School Board of the Year for Texas, one district school board of trustees from each of the state’s 20 Education Service Center regions is selected to advance. The Texas Outstanding School Board will be announced during txEDCON, the TASA/Texas Association of School Boards Convention, held September 29 –October 1 in Dallas.
Montgomery ISD received an A rating from the Texas Education Agency for the 2021-22 school year, with seven campuses securing an A rating and three campuses earning a B rating.
