Today, volunteers from Huntsville ISD, Huntsville Elementary, Estella Stewart Elementary and the Powell Foundation built a kid-designed playground to bring joy and foster of sense of belonging for kids in both of the schools’ neighborhoods. It’s part of a nationwide effort led by KABOOM!, a national nonprofit committed to ending playspace inequity—the reality that quality places to play are not available to every child, especially in communities of color. At 8 this this morning volunteers constructed playgrounds at the schools. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremonies at 2:30 PM.
