The Courier of Montgomery County reports that a new hotel and convention center is slated to open this month in Conroe. The 250-room Hyatt Regency Conroe will debut on May 25.
The new facility is located at 1001 Grand Central Parkway. It resides in the Johnson Development’s Grand Central Park master-planned community near I-45 and Loop 336.
Hyatt Regency Conroe general manager Roberto Intriago believes the hotel will attract leisure and business travelers, especially those people that want to avoid downtown Houston traffic. He passed along that they have started booking some events and conferences.
The hotel will offer 30,000 square feet for gatherings and conventions. One of its ballrooms features 14,000 square feet which is available for conferences, weddings, receptions and other events accommodating up to 1,000 guests.
There will be a full-service restaurant with Chef Christian Brady in charge.
General manager Intriago described the hotel as “upscale, but very comfortable and kind of nestled into a portion of the woods.”
