On Thursday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m., a crane accident occurred on the construction site of the new HISD football stadium causing damage to a portion of the lower section of the home side bleachers. There were no injuries to report and no students were in or near the area at the time of the accident.
According to a statement from construction contractor Durotech, “The subcontractor was performing a pre-installation test on the crane when the incident occurred. No injuries were reported as the area was cleared prior to testing. An investigation is currently underway. We cannot comment until the investigation is completed.”
