The Courier of Montgomery County reports that there was a ground breaking for a new 20,000 square foot church facility in Willis on April 29th for Covenant Church. The 23-year-old church will build on 6.3 acres with access to both I-45 and State Highway 75.
The church’s new Willis address will be 17651 Texas 75. The facility is located between New Waverly and Willis. The projects is expected to be completed in approximately a year.
At present, the church members meet in downtown Willis at 302 North Danville. The congregation is reported to be around 650 to 700.
The church holds three services for the several hundred members. They also offer various life groups and outreach projects.
In the new sanctuary, there will be seating for around 600 parishioners.
