At Montgomery County Commissioners Court April 25th session, commissioners discussed the condition of the County’s Animal Shelter. The general consensus was that in regard to room, sanitation, and air flow the shelter was not up to par.
County Judge Mark Keough said implementing a needs assessment will give commissioners a dollar figure to where they can review funding possibilities for a renovated or new facility.
Paul Bonnette, a representative from PGAL, which is an international design firm, told commissioners his company could provide the necessary assessment of needs for a shelter.
Commissioners approved the $65,000 shelter needs assessment study. The money will come from the county’s contingency fund.
