In Walker County Commissioners’ Court this week, commissioners looked at approving the purchase of books by “A Time to Read” to be reimbursed by the County in an amount not to exceed $9,999.
In regard to the reimbursement for books, Commissioner Bill Daugette told commissioners, “This is the second year of the 9,999 that we allocated to them. They did the first year and provided all the stuff, and this is basically so they can order the materials for the stuff coming here.”
He explained a bit of the initial story about the reading issues that were confronted earlier on.
Commissioner Daugette explained in regard to “helping them add more books,” he read from a City Council proclamation in regard to the local reading efforts.”
Commissioners agreed to reimburse the purchases.
