Community Impact reports that several road projects are underway or will get underway in Montgomery and Conroe.
According to TxDOT, 29% of a northbound frontage road on I-45 between FM 830 and FM 1097 was completed as of the first of this month. It’s a three-lane frontage road The expected completion time is the fourth quarter of 2023 at a cost of $7.47 million with federal and state funding.
Fourteen percent of FM 1097 between Blueberry Hills Road and Lake Conroe Hills Drive is being widened from two to four lanes. It’s been forecast to finish the first quarter of 2024 at a cost of $16.09 million with federal and state funding.
In late January, TxDOT began an asphalt overlay in Conroe on Highway 75 between Loop 336 and League Line Road. They expect the project to be completed by the third quarter of 2023 at a cost of $3.45 million with TxDOT funding.
According to the City Administrator of Shenandoah, Kathie Reyer, following road clearing that was implemented in late 2022, a road project which will expand David Memorial Drive to Highway 242 will begin in April with a finish date to be determined. It’s being funded in a partnership with the city of Shenandoah, the city of Conroe and Montgomery County.
