Larry Gatlin is coming to Huntsville on Saturday, December 19, and he’s got a few stories to tell. His “Songs & Stories of a Life Well Lived” show is coming to Old Town Theatre, featuring special guest Buford Snowden.
Gatlin grew up in Seminole, West Texas, singing with his younger brothers, Steve and Rudy. Most of us know their hits, including “All the Gold in California,” “Houston (Means I’m One Day Closer to You),” and “Broken Lady,” which earned Larry a Grammy for songwriting.
You’ve probably heard his songs on recordings by other artists, too. Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and Kris Kristofferson recorded songs he wrote. I’d imagine there are some pretty good stories that go along with that.
We’re fortunate to have a place like Old Town Theatre bringing these artists to Huntsville. Hearing those songs, along with the stories behind them, should make for a great evening downtown.
The show is on Saturday, December 19, at 7:30 p.m. Old Town Theatre is at 1023 12th Street, just off the square. You can find ticket information at oldtowntheatre-huntsville.org.
