The Courier of Montgomery County reports that there will be a Dolly Parton Day in September in Montgomery County.
Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough passed along in a Facebook post, “I am proud to announce that I have proclaimed September 25th, 2026 as Dolly Parton Day in Montgomery County to honor her extraordinary life and enduring legacy.”
The proclamation “9-2-5,” according to the judge’s chief of staff Jason Millsaps, will be presented in commissioners court during their September 17th meeting. The numbers reference Parton’s role of Doralee Rhodes in the famous 1980 movie and musical “9 to 5.”
On the proclamation day, there are no related events planned.
