On June 13, Elaine Sharp Smith (’71, ’84) celebrated the release of her new book, “Time Etched in Stone,” at the Samuel Walker Houston Museum and Cultural Center, concluding five years of research into the community members commemorated in one of Huntsville’s cultural heritage landmarks.
“Wall of Faces: The Dreamers” is a 1995 sculpture by Larry Zink and Monica Taylor featuring 69 cast concrete faces, located in front of the Samuel Walker Houston Museum and Cultural Center at 1604 10th Street. Smith’s book expands on the stories behind those faces, serving as a companion to a brochure she previously developed for the center.
