Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (SHSU-COM) Dean Thomas J. Mohr, DO, MACOI, has been named a Master Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists (ACOI), one of the highest honors bestowed by the organization.
Established in 1994, the Gillum Society of Master Fellows recognizes active members who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the ACOI or to the field of osteopathic internal medicine at the local, regional or national level. The society is named for Grover Gillum, DO, a past president of the ACOI known for his leadership in education and commitment to clinical excellence.
The dean was recognized during the ACOI 2025 Convocation of Fellows and Awards Ceremony held on Oct. 10, 2025. He joins eight other distinguished physicians from across the country who were inducted as 2025 Master Fellows.
With decades of service in medical education and clinical leadership, Mohr has played a pivotal role in advancing the osteopathic profession.
