At this week’s regular session of the Huntsville City Council, councilmembers considered the final design of the University Avenue project to be submitted by Walker County for the 2025 TxDOT Transportation Alternative Grant application.
Assistant City Manager Sam Maisal told councilmembers what the project was.
The project includes 12 foot pedestrian pathways and many other amenities.
Huntsville Economic Development Director Tammy Gann told councilmembers.
Commissioner Bill Daugette made a comprehensive slide presentation on the project which can be found in the City Council video recording on the City’s Facebook page or their website.
The project application is wrapping up according to Commissioner Daugette.
Commissioner Daugette estimated the cost to be around $5,000,000.
