The Courier of Montgomery County has passed along some fun events happening at the Lone Star Convention Center and Expo through July.
Located at 9055 Airport Road in Conroe, the facility offers several areas for events. The convention center features the 22,300-square-foot Bluebonnet Ballroom and the San Jacinto and Yellow Rose rooms.
Also available is a 35-acre Lone Star Festival site. At the location, is the Lone Star Expo Arena 5,000- seat covered pavilion, the 15-acre Montgomery County Fairgrounds and the Lone Star Pavilion covered space.
From May 10th through 12th, the Big As Texas Music Festival is scheduling a three-stage event showcasing 38 musical acts on the fairgrounds. Dwight Yoakum, Dierks Bentley, Clay Walker, Tracy Bird and Thomas Rhett will be there.
On May 18th at noon and 6 PM at the Expo, the Monster Truck Wars makes a return appearance. On hand will be the Outlaw, Sheriff, Shark Attack and T-Rex trucks.
At the Convention Center from June 1st through June 2nd, the 3rd Annual Kimo Kawaii Anime Experience will be held. The event will include Melanie Kohn, known for her portrayal of Lucy Van Pelt from the 70’s Peanut special as well as Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld, a voice actress, known for her roles in Pokemon.
From June 8th to 9th, the Houston Exotic Reptiles and Pets Show will be held at the convention center. Spectators can see different amphibians, reptiles inverts and feeders.
On September 13th, the Christmas in July Market indoor event will be at the convention center from 9 to 5. On hand will be home, garden and holiday décor. They will have children’s and women’s boutique clothing.
On July 19th and 20th, at the Expo Center from 5 to 10 PM, the Balloon Glow and Laser Show will be presented by Hot Air Balloon Management.
