The Courier of Montgomery County has passed along that public input is being sought by Conroe ISD for the naming of three new schools.
Through May 10th, Conroe ISD is accepting suggestions to name a new Conroe-area high school and two elementary schools.
Opening in August of 2025, one of the elementary schools is located in the Woodlands feeder. The $45 million facility will be on Old Conroe Road. It’ll have a capacity of 950 kids.
Opening its doors in August of 2025, elementary school number two will be located off Texas 242 in Evergreen. The $44 million facility will have a capacity of 950 students.
In August of 2027, the seventh comprehensive high school in the district will open on Loop 336 next to Stockton Junior High.
A variety of options for naming elementary, intermediate and junior high schools is available. The schools can be named after a well-known public official who has served the district with distinction, national or state heroes, those who have received recognition in the arts and education, those who donate to the school or after a geographical area.
Communicartions specialist for Conroe ISD, Russ Reneau, says a geographical area would be the appropriate submission for high schools.
At CISD’s May 14th, session suggestions will be given to trustees who will consider picking the names in June.
