The Courier of Montgomery County has recently passed along a number of fun and interesting things that will be going on in Conroe.
For example, at the Owen Theatre on April 28th and 29th cold-reading auditions will be held for “Butterflies are Free.”
On Saturday, April 27th, the annual City of Conroe Kidzfest gets under way with a number of different activities. They’ll have stage acts, interactive villages and hands-on fun. Participants can see unique art, try a new sport or get a souvenir to take home. Food vendors will be on hand.
With art pieces having been painted during their festival in March, the Greater Conroe Arts Alliance festival will be auctioning them off with a site online. Bid deadline is 7 PM April 30th. For more info, go to GreaterConroeArtsalliance.com.
On Friday May 3rd at 7 PM and Saturday May 4th at 2 PM, “The Enchanted Bookshop” will be presented by Bravo Company, the Childrenss Performing Arts School for the Crighton Theatre Foundation. Each night characters from the books in the shop come alive.
A three-weekend presentation of “Into the Woods” will get underway on Friday, May 10th. Its a tangled fairy tale play. OwenTheatre.com offers the tickets.
Evening cruises are available on Lake Conroe on the Southern Empress. Evening cruises feature, drinks, dinner and dancing. They offer various themed cruises and a Mother’s Day cruise.
