At the last regular session of Walker County Commissioners Court, commissioners looked at a Memorandum of Agreement between the County and the New Waverly 4-H Community Club. In the agreement, the Club can use the 4.5 acre County property next to the weigh station at 842 Old Houston in New Waverly for five years with possible renewal of the agreement every five years.
The 4-H club would construct an arena and supporting facilities to carry out its mission to prepare youth to meet the challenges of childhood, adolescence and adulthood through educational experiences.
An issue with the location of the club and how the issue was to be handled was discussed. Commissioner Bill Daugette talked to us about 4-H itself, the issue and how the issue will be handled.
Commissioners approved the agreement.
