Community Impact reports that the Houston Galveston Area Council, or H-GAC, brought forth their 2025-28 Transportation Improvement Plan at their April 3rd meeting. The plan targets state funding to eight county’s transportation projects in the Houston region.
Allocated for the next four years, Montgomery County will be receiving $564.61 million in state and federal funding for quite a few projects, which include:
–$16.47 million for I-45 improvements that include frontage road raising from Shenandoah Park Drive to Highway 242 and an extension of the Northbound HOV from FM 1488 to Loop 336.
–$21.7 million for a Highway 242 third direct connector. The connector would be eastbound from I-45 to Highway 242.
$12.52 million for Longmire Road. The road will be going from two to four lanes in a reconstruction and widening.
–$28 million for Conroe bus terminals. The funds would be for bus terminal construction at Lone Star College and Downtown Conroe.
–$125.27 million for the expansion of Highway 105. Two to four lane reconstruction and widening will be undertaken.
–$5 million for the expansion of Research Forest Drive. Shadowbend to Kuykendahl Road will undergo widening from four to six lanes.
–$37.1 million for the expansion of Loop 336. The project will include widening from two to four lanes and a dividing of east and westbound lanes.
