In a press release on their website, the 2,200 acre master-planned community, Artavia, in the Montgomery County-Conroe area, passes along that Conroe ISD has purchased 15.75 acres from them for an elementary or intermediate school in the future.
Vice President of Development and Acquisitions for Airia Development Company, Mark Hardy, Sr., the developer, said “This has been part of the Artavia master plan all along and marks the importance of preserving space for educational facilities.”
The future school is part of the 2019 Bond campaign that was approved by voters with no tax rate increase. Right now, Artavia students attend Conroe ISD. The Artavia area is estimated to grow by 3,000 students each year and will have approximately 76,000 students by 2028.
