Texas Independence Day and Sam Houston’s Birthday

Celebrate Texas Independence Day and Sam Houston’s Birthday Monday, March 2^nd, in Huntsville. The day begins at 9:15am with coffee at the Gibbs-Powell Home, followed by the March To the Grave from the SHSU campus to Oakwood Cemetery. The Sam Houston gravesite ceremony at 11am includes the Baptized a Texan Ceremony. A luncheon and Toast to Texas begin at noon at the Sam Houston Memorial Museum and Library. Admission is free except for the “baptism” ceremony and luncheon. Register for those online.
