This morning, Huntsville Memorial Hospital, along with Huntsville Police Department, Huntsville Fire Department, Walker County Sheriff’s Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Walker County EMS, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Sam Houston State University Police Department, SHSU Institute for Homeland Security, Walker County Emergency Management, South East Texas Regional Advisory Council and Huntsville ISD will be conducting an active shooter and mass casualty incident exercise.
You may notice an increase in emergency vehicles and uniformed officers in the area of Sam Houston State University and Huntsville Memorial Hospital. All emergency entities, school activities and hospital operations will remain fully functional for the needs of our community during the exercise. All patients’ care appointments at Huntsville Memorial Hospital, HMH Rural Health Clinic, HMH Specialty Clinics and all other entities in and around Huntsville Memorial Hospital will be honored as scheduled and open for normal business hours.
