On April 23, Sam Houston State University will hold its first Giving Day! This inaugural event will center around “1879”, the year the university was founded. The online campaign will last one day, eight hours, seven minutes and nine seconds. Funds raised during this event will support university scholarships, programs, athletics and the Alumni Association.
Gifts made during Giving Day will bolster targeted endeavors. Whether directed towards a particular college, a specific program at SHSU, or Life Membership in the Alumni Association, donors can select from a variety of initiatives to support. For example, the SHSU Food Pantry, Bearkat Emergency Fund, freshman scholarships and many more areas need support. Each generous donation plays a pivotal role in empowering SHSU to cultivate student success.
With hourly challenges throughout the day, donors can unlock bonus dollars for their favorite programs and areas of support. Those interested in increasing the impact of a gift through a challenge or match can email givingtoshsu@shsu.edu to connect with an Annual Giving team member.
