The Courier of Montgomery County reports that there are shows in the works for Conroe’s downtown theatre 2024-25 show seasons put on by Players Theatre Company and Stage Right of Texas.
The seasons for both groups are the same—early September through July 2025.
The Players have been performing at the Owen Theatre at 225 Metcalf since 2008.
The resident theater group for the Crighton Theatre at 234 North Main Street is Stage Right of Texas. They are kicking off their 16th season.
“Rock of Ages,” a rock musical, opens the 2024-25 Players Theatre Company’s season. It’s about Hollywood in the 80’s–music from Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Journey and others will be featured. It runs from September 6th through the 22nd at the Owen Theatre.
Other shows coming up for the Players Theatre Company include “Steel Magnolias, “White Christmas,” Bedroom Farce,” Tuck Everlasting,” “Little House of Horrors” and “Private Lives.”
The 2024-25 season for Stage Right opens September 6th d at the Crighton Theatre featuring “The Play That Goes Wrong.” It’s a comedy characterized as part “Sherlock Holmes” and part “Monty Python.” It runs through September 22nd.
Other shows coming up for Stage Right include “Dracula,” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “The Big Musical,” “Shakespeare in Love,” and “The Wedding Singer.”
