The Courier of Montgomery County reports that several in-person and virtual public hearings for possible improvement projects in the Montgomery County area will be presented by TxDOT in the future.
In order to create vehicle access to businesses, neighborhoods and community facilities, an FM 1314 access management study is planned. Looking at improvements in the short, medium and long term the study aims to improve traffic flow, mobility and safety, lessen traffic delays and encourage current and future projects. At 5 PM on February 6th, the virtual public meeting will get underway on TxDOT’s webpage. On February 8th, from 5-7 PM, TxDOT wil feature an open house for the project at the East Montgomery County Senior Center on McCleskey Road in New Caney.
Along FM 1375 for about 6 miles, widening is planned from FM 149 to the Walker County line. The current lanes of travel will go from 10-feet-wide to 12-feet-wide. Outside shoulders would be 5-feet wide. At 5 PM on February 27th a virtual public hearing will be held on TxDOT’s webpage. On February 29th from 5 to 7 PM, an open house for the project will be held at the Lone Star Community Center on Lone Star Parkway in Montgomery.
