In Monday’s Walker County Commissioners’ Court, local Emergency Management Coordinator Butch Davis passed along to the court information relevant to our current Burn Ban using U.S. Drought Monitor numbers, which go from D0 to D4, and the KBDI, or Keetch-Byram Drought Index, which ranges from 0 to 800, where a drought index of 0 represents no moisture depletion and an index of 800 represents absolutely dry conditions.
The Court voted to continue a Burn Ban for the county under updated Burn Ban wording.
