The Courier of Montgomery County reports that over 1,200 lots are planned for the Conroe area which includes a new development and the expansion of several others.
On Thursday in a unanimous vote, the annexation by the Conroe City Council of 15 acres into MUD No. 142 expands it to over 150 acres.
Assistant City Administrator and Director of Community Development Nancy Mikeska, passed along that 54 lots will be added following the annexation which will bring about a total of 608 lots.
She also said that homes being offered in the price range of $450,000 to $500,000 will feature lots that are 52 feet by 110 feet.
The council also okayed the annexation of 19 acres into MUD No. 142 for Mackenzie Creek Section 4 by a separate 4 to 1 vote. The developer is Camillo Properties on Loop 336. This move by the Conroe council will bring an additional 86 single-family lots expanding to 694. The one vote against it was from Councilmember Harry Hardman. He inquired about the city’s ability to provide water and sewer. Assistant City Administrator and Director of Public Works Norm McGuire passed along that they have the capacity for the new homes and does not think there will be a problem with it.
Sewer and water for both projects will be made available by the City of Conroe.
The building of Section 2 of Pine Lake Cove is another residential project that will eventually bring 2,400 single family lots to Conroe when completed. According to City of Conroe information, 140 lots will be included in Section 2.
