Community Impact reports that the 66th annual celebration of the Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo will get underway March 23 at the County Fairgrounds.
The Executive Director of the Montgomery County Fair Association, Brian Hayes, passed along some new features offered by this year’s Fair. There will be an expansion of the retail shopping; improved parking lots, including new entrances; new general admission grounds acts entertainment; an upgrade to rodeo performances; performances by Pat Green and Drake Milligan and a public speaking contest and other added competitions.
The carnival is held March 23 through April 2. The concert and rodeo weekend will be March 24 through 25. The barbecue cook-off weekend is slated for March 31 through April 1.
It will be a cashless carnival this weekend. A guest can buy an armband that is preloaded in order to gain access to games, rides and food in the area of the carnival. The armbands can be reloaded on Android or Apple devices at kiosks on the fairgrounds. For Carnival Pass options, go to the Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo’s website.
Tickets for general admission are $10 online and or $15 at the gate for ages 12 and up. Tickets are $5 for kids ages 5 to 11. Kids under 5 get in free. These tickets are also good for rodeo and concert admission March 24 through 25. Tickets are good for one-time use during either weekend of the fair. Parking is $5 on weekends. Cash only. Parking is available for purchase online. There is no charge for parking Monday through Thursday.
