Community Impact reports that during their August 26th meeting Montgomery City councilmembers approved calling for a public hearing on September 9th regarding a request from H-E-B for a special use permit tied to the grocery chain’s planned store in the city.
A drive-through lane for a restaurant is what the permit would be for. The lane would be located on the east side of the building according to City Engineer Chris Roznovsky.
At the southeast corner of Highway 105 and FM 2854, the restaurant will sit on their 32.42-acre tract of land. 16.75 acres of the land will be used for the grocery chain. The opening of the store is anticipated for late 2026.
A gas station and car wash will be included with the store. The development is expected to generate $45,600 in annual tax revenue and will cost $140,000 in public infrastructure, according to a May 2024 feasibility study.
