The Courier of Montgomery County passes along that there are a number of parades, concerts, family activities and fire works ahead for the 4th of July celebration.
From 6:30 to 9:30 PM Saturday at Heritage Place Park, 500 Metcalf in downtown Conroe the celebration features Stars & Stripes hosted by Conroe’s Parks and Recreation Department.
Activities featured include a vendor market, kids activities and a number of food trucks.
Taking the stage at 8 PM will be the Conroe Symphony Orchestra. The concert will be followed by a fireworks display beginning at 9:15 PM. Those coming are advised to bring lawn chairs or blankets and water.
Also, on the streets of Conroe downtown beginning at 11 AM, local business owners are hosting the 4th Annual Freedom Fest. The fest will include live music, a cornhole tournament, shopping, dessert trucks, water slides and a finale of fireworks over downtown.
Mims Baptist Church in Conroe has their annual Celebrate America event on Sunday and on July 3rd. At 10:30 AM a patriotic worship service is planned for Sunday with patriotic music. On July 3rd at 5:30 PM, the church will feature family-friendly activities, including food trucks, family games, inflatables for the kids and fireworks around 9 PM. The church can be found in Conroe at 1609 Porter Road.
The Conroe VFW Post 4709, from 11 AM to 4 PM, hosts their annual 4th of July picnic at 1303 West Semands Street. Featured at the event will be bounce houses, hot dogs and a dunk tank.
In New Caney, the seventh annual Valley Ranch 4th Fest will get underway on the fourth. In partnership with Big Top Entertainment, this Independence Day family celebration offers free admission to the public and will happen at The Hill at Valley Ranch. They will have a large fireworks display.
The 4th of July celebration Freedom Fest in the city of Montgomery will be on July 5th in the town’s historic district. At 9 AM, the “Anything But a Trailer” parade begins. Following the parade there will be a kids’ zone and vendors until 3 PM downtown.
