The Huntsville Item reported that on Monday, Walker County Commissioners Court met to fill a judicial opening of the County Court at Law in Walker County, formerly presided over by Judge Tracy Sorenson.
Governor Greg Abbot has appointed Judge Sorenson to the 278th District Court. She is expected to take office on January 1, 2025.
Commissioners discussed what a county court at law application should contain. It will be posted at the county website and at the courthouse. Applicants can apply for the position now through December 30th at 9 AM. Interviews for the position will be held December 31st at 9 AM.
