At last week’s Walker County Local Emergency Planning Committee meeting held at the Storm Shelter, the Department of Homeland Security’s Ben Welch made a presentation on voluntary services provided by their Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency.
As indicated in the broad title of their agency, they cover several areas of security and safety assessments like for chemical facilities, public facilities and retailers.
As an example of the assessments the agency provides, Mr. Welch talked about security safety assessments.
He made a point of recommending drills to deal with these issues and providing training opportunities. For more information, contact the Walker County Office of Emergency Management at 936-435-8035.
