Community Impact reports that at their November 19th meeting Conroe ISD trustees shared an update in regard to the proposed rezoning process for two of the district’s new elementary schools.
The process of rezoning, and how overcrowding from the nearby elementary schools is affecting operational needs, was discussed by Assistant Superintendent of Operations Chris McCord.
Scheduled to open in August at 15895 Stonecrest Drive in Conroe, Mittie J. Campbell Elementary School will offer overcrowding relief to Suchma Elementary, Oak Ridge/Vogel Intermediate and San Jacinto Elementary schools in the Oak Ridge and Caney Creek high school feeder zones, with capacity for 950 students.
Also scheduled to open in August, with a campus at 14000 Old Conroe Road, Conroe, Eissler Elementary will offer overcrowding relief for Buckalew Elementary, Mitchell Intermediate and Tough Elementary campuses within the Woodlands High School feeder, with a capacity for 950 students.
McCord said construction is underway on both campuses.
An attendance Boundary Committee to study the student growth in the affected areas and to offer a recommendation for attendance boundaries was established by the district.
The committee shows possible rezoning scenarios with map proposals for both of its new schools through its website. Google Conroe Attendance Committee.
