An Appreciation Day event for First Responders will be held at the Walker County Courthouse Gazebo at 10:00a.m. on Monday October 28th, 2024. This day is a time to express a community’s gratitude to the men and women for their sacrifice, who always stand ready to serve us in a time of crisis and who risk their lives in doing so, to keep us safe.
These heroes contribute to the welfare and protection of our county, in all types of emergencies. By being the first to respond to medical emergencies, by providing fire protection, by conducting rescues and by maintaining law and order, they bring a sense of well-being and security to everyday citizens.
Residents of Huntsville and Walker County are invited to attend and show their appreciation for our First Responders. Members of our local First Responder agencies have also been invited to attend.
Walker County Judge Colt Christian and Huntsville Mayor Russell Humphrey will read respective proclamations to pay tribute to all First Responders for the outstanding service they provide.
The event is co-sponsored by the Walker County Republican Women and the Republican Party of Walker County.
