Our 8th District Representative Morgan Luttrell informs us that the U.S. Department of State has launched a new version of the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), a free service that offers safety and security alerts from U.S. embassies and consulates directly to your email.
This enhanced platform now allows citizens to create a personalized experience through a login.gov account, where you can subscribe to country-specific alerts based on your travel dates. One can also register multiple trips or locations and manage your subscriptions easily. Additionally, enrolling in STEP makes it much easier for the State Department to reach you in the event of an emergency.
