The Montgomery County Courier reports that a number of new development projects are ready to bring more food options to the area as Montgomery County continues to grow.
Firm partner Ryan Sweeney of BCS Capital Group, a Houston-based real estate company has been operating for about four years. The firm specializes in retail, mixed-use and industrial development projects. The firm has developed projects in Conroe, Beaumont, Katy, Magnolia, Marble Falls, Splendora and New Caney.
In the Montgomery County area, this includes four projects with two possibly bringing more restaurants to Spring and Magnolia.
Firm partner Jack Burgher said restaurants, retail and grocery stores are “all a byproduct of home growth.” He also noted the “exponential” growth in Montgomery County. He further commented on the “disposable income” of residents in this type of market can shop and go to restaurants.
Partner Sweeney, in August, had been in a meeting with officials from Magnolia to propose an agreement with the city to help with its site of FM 1488 where they have plans to build a Texas Roadhouse. He said it could potentially draw more restaurants into the area. A 380 agreement was entered into with the city of Magnolia.
Another site, southeast from the site, is a planned place to bring restaurants in Spring. According to documents provided by the firm, two proposed 12,000 square foot buildings with drive through opportunities are planned. Burgher said the firm has been engaged in discussions with several sitdown restaurants.
For nearly two years, Magnolia has been under a building permit moratorium to address water capacity issues. Magnolia Mayor Matt Dantzer said in a previous interview that the BCS Capital Group meeting with local officials shows that the moratorium has not slowed down interest from developers.
