The Courier of Montgomery County reports that Montgomery County’s former hospital will launch this month as a senior living community called Landmark 301. The building was formerly Montgomery County’s hospital for four decades.
Redeveloped on First Street in Conroe by the Kansas-based Overland Property Group, the building offers for lease efficiency, one bedroom and two bedroom units. The first residents will occupy the building later this month.
The facility will feature 47 units for seniors age 55 and older. The units offer a living-room area, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, washer/dryer hookups and secure entrances. As far as size, the two bedroom unit is about 1,000 square feet, the one bedroom unit is around 700 square feet and the efficiency unit 573 square feet in area. For floor plans, google the Landmark 301 website.
Available amenities include a community room, library, fitness center and activity room.
At 9:30 AM on August 27th at 301 South First Street, grand opening tours will be available. Availability forms are located on the Landmark 301 website.
Brett Johnson with Overland Property Group back in early 2021 made a presentation to the Conroe City Council explaining plans to redevelop the building, looking for affordable housing tax credits from the government to complete the facility. In 2021, the project did not get picked up. However, in 2022, $13.5 million in funding was cleared. The remaining 30 percent of the total project funds is in the form of a construction loan and a permanent loan comparable to a mortgage.
