There are now free fares on all inner-city fixed routes for Conroe Connection Transit. The routes are set to run Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 7 PM.
Declarations of Disaster have been signed by Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough and Conroe Mayor Coon.
Conroe Public Works Director Norman McGuire passed along at the Conroe City Council’s July 10th meeting that the primary focus at present is on infrastructure and providing residents a way to get their debris collected.s
McGuire also said that they “are going to authorize our on-call contracts, so we got a lot of troops to come and land in Conroe.” He thinks it will increase the recovery time. He said that on the ground there is approximately 60 to 80,000 cubic yards of green waste.
Meanwhile, Conroe Mayor Coon said the city staff is hard at work providing help for the community.
